For many of us we haven’t had the chance to truly travel like we used to before, and now with more open borders the goal should be to maximize the trip in order to make up for all the lost time. However, there is one thing in common with staying in your home country and traveling to a foreign one, and that is having to eat about 2-3 meals a day. Being seated at a table for hours can get boring regardless of how good the food is, so why not continue to travel as you eat, and get a chance to learn a few neat tricks like tying rope handcuffs?
What if we told you that not only will you be confined to a single table, you will actually be able to travel around the world in under 2.5 hours? You will be able to achieve that at ANDSOFORTH’s latest experiential dining concept ‘Around the World in 80 days Book Analysis Workshop’. After chartering a private jet to Singapore with APERTUS, you get to travel to more than 7 countries within a single meal, not a single second is wasted.
Diving head first into the book
You begin your journey in London, at the Gaiety theater, you’re not seated immediately, instead you are standing behind a counter with your friends and getting ready to make your own cocktail.
While this is not a James Bond scene where you will learn how to differentiate between a Martini that is shaken or stirred, you will learn the relevance of the jigger and pony, if you don’t know what that is, just keep in mind that it does not involve an actual horse.
Your first host will keep you thoroughly entertained, and a cocktail is always a great start to a fun evening.
If you’re not a fan of or cannot consume alcohol, ANDSOFORTH has a non-alcoholic option prepared for you, and they are also quite accommodative of your allergy considerations, you just need to give the team a heads up before arriving in London.
It doesn’t matter if you have to fly, walk, sail, swim, or drive. Just go and see the world
Next you set off from London and you’re welcomed on board a French ship that is sailing through the Suez canal, this part of your journey is a really fun one for those who are fans of knots and ropes.
After enjoying a delicious bowl of stew, your highly talented and expressive captain will teach you a few neat tricks from a slip knot to handcuffs, your rope is what you make of it.
You are then kicked off the ship, and will somehow land up in the Jungles of Culcutta, remember to keep a look out for the elephant, though it really is quite hard to miss its big head. You will be fortunate enough to dig into some really good butter chicken while stranded in the jungles, but you have to make your own banana leaf cup in order to save yourself from dehydration.
Before you can even wonder what’s next, one of you may be instructed to run headfirst into the jungle only to stumble into a train. Just like how you would imagine it to pop up on screen, you are now in a stunning Kowloon Canton Railway train cabin, the tables vibrating as the train rushes along while you enjoy some dim sum. Don’t forget to write on the post card provided with old English flair that was taught by a helpful train attendant.
The doors will be opened to those who are bold enough to knock
As you sign off on your postcard, you hear some knocking from somewhere in the train cabin and a tiny door opens up where you have to duck in order to enter, you are then greeted with a beware sign and some really rocky walls (but completely harmless).
It is time to learn about hard labour, rice, and sake, because you are now in a Japanese coal mine. After enjoying your next mini dish and a cup of sake, you have to put in the work and pull yourself and some friends out of the mine in your coal cart.
Your journey is about to come to a close as you reach New York, here you get to enjoy some nitrogen ice cream which gives you dragon’s breath, don’t be shy to take a quick video. Finish up the dessert and you are now heading up a hot air balloon to watch an acrobatic trapeze act from the safety of your basket. Who would’ve thought you could end up in the air in the middle of dinner.
The end of one chapter is just the beginning of another
Finally, you return to New York to wrap up the story, and you probably would be lamenting that this 2.5 hours passed far too quickly and are left wanting for more. That is the magic of ANDSOFORTH’s dining experiences, you will be left in awe of the extremely detailed set ups, stories, and entertaining facilitators.
