EBACE 2023 was nothing short of eventful, and our APERTUS team members on the ground had a great time catching up with friends and learning about all the exciting new updates in the industry. This article covers some of the most interesting news to come out of EBACE and we wonder what the rest of the industry thinks of the updates, discussions, and developments.
Perhaps the big question looming on everyone’s mind is if the business aviation industry is preparing for a "new normal" whereby we see an increase in protestors storming event grounds in their attempts to raise concerns about aviation’s environmental impact.
It is a given that many industry leaders and organizations have recognized the importance of taking proactive measures to reduce carbon emissions, such as investing in sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), and adopting cleaner technologies.
However, this incident like many other protests before it highlights the importance of education and outreach programs to raise awareness about the industry's efforts to achieve sustainability goals.
Instead of dangerous disruption, it would be more beneficial to foster meaningful collaboration between industry stakeholders, regulators, and environmental activists because it is vital to finding the much needed sustainable solutions that can address environmental concerns.
An exciting opportunity that could propel the industry towards more sustainable growth is the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in business aviation operations.
Many talks covered that AI-powered systems are being used to streamline flight planning, optimize routes, and enhance decision-making processes for pilots and operators, which improves overall efficiency.
Advanced algorithms and machine learning models help analyze vast amounts of data, including weather patterns, air traffic, and aircraft performance, to provide real-time insights.
These AI-based predictive analytics enable operators to anticipate maintenance issues, optimize fuel consumption, and minimize delays, which maximizes business charters without additional cost to the environment.
The integration of AI into business aviation operations is expected to continue expanding, with ongoing advancements in technology and increasing adoption across the industry.
Lastly, many sales and potential business developments were highlighted throughout the event, but the significant order for 43 helicopters from Airbus, really showcased the confidence Italian Operator Air Corporate has in the future of the rotorcraft industry. Air Corporate aims to expand its fleet and meet the growing demand for helicopter services in various sectors, including tourism, emergency medical services (EMS), and private transportation. And this order really underscores the confidence in Airbus helicopters' reliability, performance, and customer support services, it tallies with our own experience chartering helicopters from Airbus for our clients.
EBACE 2023 was one to remember even with just these 3 topics and events that played out. APERTUS is constantly on the look out for industry developments, events, and news in order to keep up to date with the market and we want to know what you think about this year’s EBACE.
Which projects excite you the most? Are you worried about protestors at future events? How can AI benefit or disrupt the industry in your opinion?
We would love to have discussions about it with our industry friends and clients so reach out to our team members anytime, and we look forward to attending the other aviation events of the year!
